KUTZTOWN, PA – Two members of the
Kutztown University football team were honored by d2football.com
as members of its All-Northeast Region teams.

Punter Jon Corson (sr. Lansdale/North Penn) was named
to second-team All-Northeast Region honors.
Tight end Jason Henley (fr. Gilbertsville/Boyertown)
was named to the All-Northeast Region Freshman team.
Corson led the PSAC in punting, averaging 43.0 yards
on 55 punts. He set
KU’s single-season record for punting average, while finishing his
career as KU’s all-time leader in punting yards with 8,868 on 230
career kicks. He was a
three-time All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East
selection, while this is his first All-Region honor.
Henley was standout during his redshirt freshman
season in 2003. He
caught 21 passes for 190 yards and had six touchdown catches.
He started all 11 games at tight end.
He was a first-team All-PSAC East pick.
Additionally, wide receiver Trevor Smith (jr.
Bristol/Harry S. Truman), defensive lineman Matt Sola (sr.
Blandon/Reading Central Catholic), defensive back Andre Davis
(sr. Philadelphia/Dobbins Tech) and kicker Matt Scartozzi
(so. Malvern/Bishop Shanahan) were included among those
receiving “honorable mention” for the All-Northeast Region
teams.
Kutztown, under sixth-year head coach Dave Keeny,
finished 6-5 overall, 3-3 in the PSAC East.

FIVE KUTZTOWN
SOCCER PLAYERS EARN ALL-REGION HONORS
KUTZTOWN, PA – Five members of
Kutztown University’s men’s and women’s soccer teams have
earned All-Region honors.

Named to the National Soccer
Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Northeast Region teams
were Lindsay Will (sr. Lancaster/Manheim Twp.), Kelly Kau
(fr. York/Central York) and Lauren Tatro (jr. Somerville,
NJ/Somerville) of the women’s team, and E.T. Hunter (sr.
Clarks Green/Abington Heights) and John Lapore (sr.
Harrisburg/Cedar Cliff) of the men’s team.
Will earned first-team honors, Lau and Tatro were selected to
the women’s second team, while Hunter and Lapore were named to the
men’s third team.
Will anchored the Golden Bear defense, starting all 21
games at sweeper. Will
and her fellow defenders limited teams to nine shots and just over
goal per game. She also
chipped in on offense, scoring two goals with four assists. Will
was named to first-team All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference
(PSAC) honors.
Lau had a sensational freshman season.
She led the team with 14 goals and 36 points, while tying for
the team lead with eight assists.
Her 14 goals are the third most in a single season at KU, and
her 36 points are the second highest total in school history.
She was a first-team All-PSAC selection.
Tatro tied for the team lead with eight assists.
She added four goals for 16 points.
Three of her goals were game winners.
Tatro holds KU’s career record for assists with 25.
She earned her second All-PSAC honor in 2003, adding a
first-team selection to last year’s second-team award.
Will, Lau and Tatro become Kutztown’s first ever women’s
soccer All-Region honorees. The
women’s soccer team was 14-4-3 under head coach Jeff
Schellenberger.
Hunter earns All-Region honors for the second year,
having been named to the 2002 Northeast Region second team.
He scored seven goals and dished out three assists for 17
points. Four of his
goals were game winners. He
was a three-time All-PSAC second-team selection.
Lapore garners his first All-Region honor.
He finished the 2003 season tied for the team lead with seven
goals. He added seven
assists for a team-best 21 points.
Lapore finished his career with a school-record 24 assists,
along with 39 goals and 102 points.
He was a three-time All-PSAC selection, earning second team
honors from 2000-to-2002.
The men’s soccer team, under head coach Otto Ormosi, was
8-7-4 in 2003.

KUTZTOWN’S SALAAM, BRADY HONORED
BY PSAC
KUTZTOWN, PA – Kutztown University
basketball players Bilal Salaam (jr. Wilmington, DE/Howard),
of the men’s team, and Jess Brady (fr. Wescosville/Emmaus)
of the women’s team, have been honored by the Pennsylvania State
Athletic Conference (PSAC).
Salaam was named the PSAC East Men’s Player of the Week,
while Brady was named the PSAC East Women’s Rookie of the Week for
their performances in games from November 25-December 1.
Salaam was two blocks shy of a triple-double in a 81-63 win
over Columbia Union on Tuesday.
He registered 11 points, 17 rebounds and eight blocks in the
victory, Kutztown's only contest of the week.
Brady scored 14 points and grabbed nine boards in a win over
Columbia Union, then was the only Kutztown player to reach
double-scoring figures, as she had 10 points in a loss to Holy
Family yesterday. She
averaged 12.0 points and seven rebounds during the week.

KUTZTOWN’S MOLLY
LARE NAMED PSAC CROSS COUNTRY ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
KUTZTOWN, PA – Kutztown
University’s Molly Lare (fr. Bethlehem/Liberty HS) was
named the 2003 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC)
Women’s Cross Country Rookie of the Year in voting conducted by
the league’s coaches.

Lare had an outstanding freshman season for the Golden Bears
in 2003. She earned
All-PSAC honors with a seventh-place finish at the PSAC
Championships, with a time of 23:28 on the 6K course at Bloomsburg.
Lare went on to earn All-Region honors with a sixth-place
showing at regionals, with a time of 22:17 on the 6K course at Lock
Haven. During the
regular season, Lare turned in three top-ten finishes, including a
first-place showing at the Lehigh Valley Championship.
Kutztown, under sixth-year head coach Ray Hoffman, finished
fourth in the team standings of both the PSAC and East Regional
Championships.
