CALIFORNIA, PA – Rae Sherred and Maria DiVecchio combined for 33 points as Edinboro defeated Kutztown, 77-46, in a semifinal match-up Friday night at Hamer Hall in California, PA. 

Edinboro held a 20-10 lead at the 10:51 minute mark of the first half, but the Golden Bears went on a 9-3 run to cut the deficit to four points with 6:47 left on a three-pointer by Tricia McElmoyle.  Kutztown, however, did not score again in the half and Edinboro scored 16 straight points to take a 39-19 lead at halftime.  

            Edinboro built its lead to as many as 36 points in the second half, 75-39, with 2:35 left.  Kutztown shot 30% (18-60) in the game.  The Scots connected on 50.9% of its shots (28-55). 

            For the Fighting Scots, Sherred was 7-9 from the field with three three-pointers for 17 points.  DiVecchio netted 16 and Kelly Calderone added 13.  Jessi Montie notched 11 points and eight rebounds. 

            Rachel Weidensaul led KU with 13 points.  Tricia McElmoyle was the only other Golden Bear to score in double figures with 11.  Trish Dudeck pulled in nine boards. Megan Bainbridge dished out three assists, bringing her single-season school record total to 148.

            Kutztown ends it season 16-12.
