KU falls 3-0 to West Chester in first round of
PSAC playoffs
WEST CHESTER, Pa.
— The Kutztown University women's soccer team allowed
three quick goals and fell 3-0 to West Chester in the quarterfinals
of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference playoffs.
The Golden Rams (13-1-5) scored three goals in a span of seven
minutes to set the tone and the Golden Bears (12-6-2) struggled to
apply pressure until midway through the second half.
Lauren Boyer scored in the 14th minute on a direct kick from 25
yards out, beating KU keeper
Steph Addleman (fr. Chambersburg/Chambersburg), who appeared
to be screened on the play.
Less than two minutes later,
Brittany Yetter took a cross from Brittany Couper to make it 2-0,
and in the 20th minute, Sarah Oswald deflected a shot from Yetter to
score West Chester's third goal.
After that, it was all defense.
KU was outshot 15-5 and managed
just two corners. West Chester had nine, including seven in the
second half.
KU ends the season with its seventh straight 10-plus-win season.
