Dear Kutztown University Community,

As many of you are aware, proposed cuts to state funding for Kutztown University and the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education continue to be a serious concern.   Over the past three years, our administration has reduced our operating budget by $10 million.  We were asked to put a five percent freeze on this year’s budget, and face another major reduction for 2012-13.

We need as many of you as possible to help in asking for the restoration of state funding. Please contact your legislators and the Governor to show your support for our universities.  Personal messages, not form letters or post cards, are most persuasive, with particular emphasis on how your experience at a PASSHE university helped shape your personal and professional lives.

The links below will help you find contact information for our legislators and the latest data from PASSHE.

I thank you all in advance for your serious consideration of this request.    I hope you will be a part of the effort to support the future of higher education in the commonwealth.

Sincerely,

F. Javier Cevallos
President
