  • Dr. Goldberg and members of the General Education Restructuring Team answered questions relative to various general education issues.
  • Comments/questions relative to general education issues included:
    • Is it expected that there will be one common general education model for all students?
    • If one of the goals is writing (for example), will students be able to use those courses in Business that include writing to fulfill the writing requirement?
    • Will there still be a core general education?
    • Are the models being looked at sufficiently broad to meet the various needs of the different colleges on campus?
    • Proficiency type items or things that students have experience in should be able to be used to fulfill certain general education requirements.
    • A course in education and a course in business should be included in general education.
    • There was a question relative to connecting a course approved for general education to the faculty member teaching it in light of the fact that different faculty members teach the same course.
