To the KU Community:

Once again, I would like to extend an invitation to anyone who is interested in participating in the upcoming Strategic Planning event on January 7th and 8th, 2008.

This is your opportunity to join with others in helping to determine the long term goals and direction of Kutztown University.

I would like to give you an overview of the process that will take place in January:

MONDAY MORNING, JANUARY 7TH:
We will start the day with a budget presentation by Jerry Silberman, which will provide an overview on how the University is funded.

We will then follow with a review/update of the vision and mission statement. 

MONDAY AFTERNOON, JANUARY 7TH:
We will review the values and principles we have currently in place

TUESDAY MORNING, JANUARY 8TH:
We will develop a list of strategic initiatives

TUESDAY AFTERNOON, JANUARY 8TH:
We will look at what we need to do to accomplish the strategic initiatives.

Most of the work will be done in small groups of 6-8 to encourage participation.  Groups will be randomly assigned and changed whenever a new task needs to be accomplished.  In other words, you will get the opportunity to meet many different people during the course of the planning event.

In order to make sure that we have enough chairs, tables, and food for breaks, we would like to get a rough count of the number of participants.  If you would be so kind as to RSVP to Elsa Collins, collins@kutztown.edu, it would be greatly appreciated.

We will start both days at 8:30 a.m.
