The 2nd Annual Heritage Harvest Fescht will be held Saturday and Sunday, 14-15 October 2006, at the Pennsylvania German Cultural Heritage Center located at 22 Luckenbill Road, Kutztown.

Authentic crafts, folk life demonstrations, live music, farm animals and good food will be part of the weekends activities.

Some of the educational demonstrations included hearth cooking, spinning, felting and domestic activities.

Several historic buildings will be opened for tours as well. The Farm House Museum, built in the early 19th century with local limestone, was just one of the edifices open for perusing. The 130-year-old Freyberger School, an authentically restored one room schoolhouse, will feature different activities associated with attending a one room school. A rebuilt 18th century log cabin houses a collection of antique carpenters' tools and the other log house is still under construction.

Artisans from several local craft guilds will be on hand with their crafts and work for display. Last year some of the demonstations were  basket weaving, pottery, barn star painting and date stone carving.

Harvest Fescht offers an array of exhibits to visitors of all ages. Activites not only are geared for children, teens and adults.

Several  non-profit organizations will be present at the event to hand out information about their organizations.
