Springtime Cleanup at the Farm
This is a work day. Lunch is
provided for all volunteers that come out and help.
Easter on the Farm
(Rain date April 9, 2006) FREE admission and parking. Interesting and fun activities are planned for every visitor to this event. A program featuring Pennsylvania German Easter customs and traditions, a book reading of “The Egg Tree” by Katherine Milhous. Don Kemmerer and the Bethlehem Area Moravian Trombone Choir will perform their trombone music as part of the program in the schoolhouse. Artisans in the Farm House will be demonstrating and offering traditionally decorated Easter eggs, fabric crafts, Bees-wax candles and other items, Folk-Art decorated items, and there will be samples of Pennsylvania Dutch Spring-time foods. Fastnachts will be made and sold in the Summer Kitchen. Outdoors, children may make traditional onion-skin dyed eggs, a paper Easter basket and participate in an egg hunt. Everyone will help decorate an old-fashioned Egg Tree on the lawn. There will be nanny goat and her kids and traditional farm activities. One of the two log cabins will be open for tours. Heritage Harvest Fescht, 2nd Annual
Come to the Heritage Center to experience Pennsylvania German Music, Food,
Crafts and different farm activities. This event is children and family
friendly. Local artisans will come to demonstrate their crafts and display
their art. Demonstrations will occur daily in the farmhouse museum and at
different locations on the heritage center complex. Several non-profit
groups will be on site to pass out information. The historical farmhouse
will be open for tours as well as demonstrations will be occurring
throughout the day. Other outbuildings such as the summer kitchen/washhouse,
the bank barn and one of the log houses. The Pennsylvania German Cultural
Heritage Center’s mission is to educate and disseminate information to the
community on the history and culture of the Pennsylvania Germans and rural
life in southeastern Pennsylvania.

Using the grounds
The Heritage center is available for functions such as family reunions, children's birthday parties and weddings. Tent set-ups, catering, etc. can be arranged. We also offer speakers for community functions. Contact Darlene Moyer, Assistant Director, for more information.
Tours or the Heritage Center
Ongoing tours are held throughout the year by appointment.
Large group tours need at least 4 weeks to arrange.
