Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsman Spring Fine Art & Crafts Festival
The Reading-Berks & Lehigh Valley Chapters of the Guild host their 6th Festival
at Kutztown University Field House**. Come see a wonderful selection of artisans, music and food. There
will also be arts and crafts available for sale. Look for
the Heritage Center booth with a varied selection of new and classic
books about the culture and history of this area. More

Barrel rides, wagon rides

Glieder Fescht - Membership Dinner
Volunteers may be needed to help at some time during the MINSI Trails Council of the Boy Scouts JAMBO 2008 which will be held at Kutztown University. Over 7,000 Scouts are expected the premier Scouting event in east central Pennsylvania.
2008 National Barn Alliance Annual Meeting and Barn tour
The National Barn Alliance (NBA) and Historic Barn and Farm Foundation of PA (HBFFP) will jointly present a three-day conference at Kutztown University, Kutztown, PA on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, June 5-7, 2008.

Pennsylvania Artist Blacksmith Association Show - event
held onsite. Members of the Blacksmith association, free, open to the
public. Members of the association have a demonstrator, tail gaters,
different membership show their craft and enjoy the day.
PABA is pleased to announce that Nick Vincent will be the guest demonstrator at Blacksmith Day in Kutztown, June 7, 2008.

Nick Vincent, a professional blacksmith with over twenty-five years of
experience, is the owner and manager of Nathan's Forge. He has trained under
some of the country's leading blacksmiths including Peter Ross and Ken
Schwarz of Colonial Williamsburg. His work has been featured in national
magazines and newspapers and he has pieces contained in private collections
across the nation.

Mr. Vincent has been a major contributor to the blacksmithing community since his entry into the field. He frequently teaches and demonstrates blacksmithing techniques. An active member of several regional and national blacksmithing organizations, Nick Vincent was one of the founders of the Blacksmith Guild of Central Maryland in 1986 and is a past-president of the Mid-Atlantic Smith's Association. Nick's demo will include presentations on production blacksmithing, jigs and jig making and Project Management

Kutztown PA German Festival - The heritage center will
have the bookstore at the festival. Please come and browse are wares. Also
the Heritage Center Library will be open most days of the festival except
for Sundays and July 4th.

Pysanky Workshop
A
Pysanky (decorative Ukrainian Easter egg) workshop for adults will be taught
by renowned Pysanky Artist Nina Badulak-McDaniel at the Pennsylvania German
Cultural Heritage Center. It is the 8th in our series of almost
extinct historic crafts. Class space is limited. Please bring your own
lunch. Registration is open from June through September 20. For registration

Come to the
Heritage Center to experience Pennsylvania German music, food, crafts and
historic farm life demonstrations. This event is children and family
friendly. The farmhouse will be open for tours and the other buildings on
site will house numerous historic demonstrations. Our affiliate groups will
be on site to demonstrate various other activities. During the event there
will also be a folk life symposium (limit seating) in the school house.

The Heritage center is available for functions such as family reunions, children's birthday parties and weddings. Tent set-ups, catering, etc. can be arranged.
