KU women dominate Golden Bear Invitational: The Kutztown University women's swim team claimed first place at the Golden Bear Invitational on Saturday at the Keystone Pool. With a total of 726 points, the Golden Bears finished well ahead of second place Steven Tech. Full Story

Kutztown wins two more matches on second day of UMES Invitational:
In the second day of the UMES tournament, the Golden Bears went two-for-three. Thus far in the tournament, Kutztown won six matches and lost four. The Golden Bears are in ninth place overall.  Full Story to come

Golden Bears sweep at American International dual: The Kutztown University wrestling team swept its matches with American International and Johnson & Wales on Saturday afternoon. Chris Sheetz led the Golden Bears with pins in each of his bouts. Full Story

Kutztown shines at NCAA Championships: The Kutztown University women’s cross country team finished its 2009 season with a flourish by finishing 14th overall with 355 points at the NCAA Division II Championships on the campus of Southern Indiana University Saturday afternoon. Full Story

Kutztown wins four matches on opening day of UMES Invitational:
The Golden Bears defeated St. Peters, 808-798, Arkansas State, 937-891, Morgan State, 880-858 and Southern, 878-861, to improve their season record to 18-12 overall. Kutztown is in eighth place of the 20-team tournament with 4,376 pins after the opening day of competition. Full Story

Men's basketball Alumni Day is set: The Kutztown University men’s basketball program will host its annual Alumni Day on Saturday, December 5, 2009. Miller and Celia named to PSAC East second team
: Senior Katie Miller and junior Jamie Celia was named to the all-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East second team. Celia and Miller played key roles in helping the Golden Bears finish with 16 victories and in second place in the PSAC East. Full Story

After helping Kutztown extend its winning streak to 10 and winning three events at last week's tri-meet with Indiana, Pa., Lock Haven and Salem International, Steph Jeppesen was named PSAC Swimmer of the Week. Full Story

Balanced Kutztown defeats Wilmington in opener
: The Kutztown University men’s basketball team began its 2009-10 season with a 95-61 victory over Wilmington University at Keystone Arena Wednesday night. Kutztown scored the first 16 points and never trailed in winning its 16th consecutive home game. Julius Gray and Ryan Washington scored 21 points each to lead five players in double figures. : The two-day Golden Bear Invitation will feature a session of trials and finals on Friday & Saturday November 20-21, 2009 at Keystone Pool. Friday’s action begins at 11 a.m. with the preliminaries and at 7 p.m. with the finals. Saturday’s events start at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. with the finals. Full Story

Kim Angstadt of the field hockey team earned second-team All-American status by womensfieldhockey.com. Angstadt had previously been named to the PSAC Eastern Division first team. Full Story

Deeter named to Daktronics all-Atlantic Region first team: Junior defender Chelsea Deeter had a sterling season in helping the Golden Bears set a school record for wins in a season (15). Deeter anchored a defense that posted a school record 13 shutouts. Full Story

Women ready for NCAA Championships: The Kutztown University women’s cross-country team will participate in the 2009 NCAA Division II national championship meet on Saturday, November 21 at the University of Southern Indiana Cross Country Course in Evansville, Indiana. The women’s race will begin at 1 p.m. Eastern time. Golden Bears fall to Cal (Pa.) in NCAA Regional
: The Kutztown University women's soccer team dropped a hard fought battle with California (PA) 3-1 on Sunday afternoon on Keystone Field. The Golden Bears got a late goal from Emily Froehlich, but the Vulcan lead was too much to overcome. Full Story

Kutztown opens with victory
: Kutztown defeated Wilmington University, 87-76, Sunday afternoon in its season opener. Six players reached double figures highlighted by 18 points from Melissa McQuade and 17 points from Kristen Murray. Full Story

Golden Bears close tournament with three wins:
The Kutztown bowling team closed out the two-day Northeast Conference Tournament winning all three matches. The Golden Bears went 5-2 in the two-day event. Full Story

Kutztown split matches in first day:
The Kutztown bowling team ended a tough afternoon on opening day of the NEC Conference Tournament, splitting their matches 2-2. The Golden Bears lost their first and third matches to Adelphi 1212-1185 and Sacred Heart 1308-1299. Kutztown beat St. Francis 1273-1265 in the second match and finished out the first day of the tournament beating St. Peter's 1263-1174. Full Story

Freshman wrestlers lead KU at Washington and Jefferson Open
: The Kutztown University wrestling team kicked off the 2009-10 season at the Washington and Jefferson Open on Saturday afternoon, with freshmen Austin Williams and Alex Depew leading the way. Full Story

Golden Bears dominate at Indiana dual:
The Kutztown University women's swim team swept its two meets on Saturday afternoon at Indiana (Pa). They beat host Indiana 145-100 and cruised by Lock Haven 181-64, running the season record to 10-1 overall. Full Story

Kutztown to meet Cal (Pa) again in second round of NCAA Division II tournament
: For the second time in nine days, the Kutztown University women’s soccer team will meet California University of Pennsylvania in an NCAA Division II Atlantic Region second round game at Keystone Field on Sunday, November 15 beginning at 1 p.m. with a trip to the Sweet 16 at stake. Ticket prices are $8 for adults and $5 for senior citizens and students. Full Story

The Kutztown University women's bowling team will host its first Northeast Conference match on Saturday and Sunday, November 14-15, 2009 at Bowl-a-Rama in Reading.  This will be the first NEC Conference Bowling Meet ever held in Pennsylvania. Full Story

Kutztown ranked 17th in final NSCAA regular season poll
: The Kutztown University women’s soccer is ranked 17th in the final regular season Top 25 poll released by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Kutztown was selected to participate in the 2009 NCAA Division II championship tournament. Full story

Five Golden Bears named to All-PSAC East teams: Kutztown University junior kicker Matt Dineen headlined the list of Golden Bears with a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference first-team selection. Dontay Wilson, Mike Gardier, Joel Irwin and Chris Medina were All-PSAC second-team honorees. Full Story

Solley among top scorers in Division II: Lauren Solley
of the Kutztown University field hockey team finished among the top in Division II in numerous statistical categories after  a breakout senior season. After missing the 2007 season with a torn ACL and not being at full strength in the 2008 season, Solley prepared herself in the offseason with harder workouts and played in a summer league. Shippensburg ousts Kutztown in PSAC quarterfinal: The Kutztown University women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to Shippensburg Tuesday night in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference quarterfinal. The visiting Red Raiders edged KU, 26-24, 19-25, 25-19 and 25-23. Full Story
