
The Team of the Month selection began with the 1997-98 season. Each of the seven institutions nominate one male and one female player for inclusion on the Team of the Month. At the final luncheon in February, a Player of the Year and the Team of the Year is announced.

LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. Fourteen student-athletes from Lehigh Valley
schools have been named to the Sheraton Inn/Lehigh Valley College Basketball Media
Organization Teams of the Month for the first month of the 1998-99 season.
The Teams of the Month one for mens basketball and one for womens
basketball consist of one player from each of the seven schools in the Lehigh
Valley College Basketball Media Organization (LVCBMO).
Headlining the Teams of the Month are the 1998 LVCBMO Players of the Year, Brett Eppehimer and Amy Wahl. Eppehimer averaged a Valley-best 21.6 points per game for 4-3 Lehigh, while Wahl averaged 11.9 points, 6.9 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 2.4 steals in helping Kutztown to a 7-3 start.

The LVCBMO will announce an All-Academic Team at its next luncheon, on Tuesday, January 19, 1999, and the Teams of the Year at its final luncheon, on Tuesday, February 16, 1999. Players of the Year for men's and women's basketball will be selected at the final luncheon.
LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. -- They got game. They got brain.
They are the 14 student-athletes who have been named to the 1998-99 Sheraton Inn/Lehigh
Valley College Basketball Media
Organization (LVCBMO) Scholar-Athlete Team.
To be eligible for the team, a student must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, a
starter or key reserve on his or her team, and have a cumulative grade-point average (GPA)
of 3.0 or higher.
This select group of 14, one each from the men's and women's teams of the seven schools in
the LVCBMO, has mastered the difficult challenge of balancing academics and athletics.
While majoring in everything from telecommunications to sociology, they rank among team,
conference and even national leaders on the court. Their names are found on Deans' Lists
and all-time scoring lists, on All-Academic Teams and All-Tournament Teams.

records over .500 were permitted to place two members on the squad.

The 18 all-stars combined to score more than 5,300 points --- an average of 13.0 per game
--- and pull down more than 2,000 rebounds (4.9 per game) this season. The women's team
was dominated by backcourt players (seven of the nine), while six of the nine men's
honorees play in the frontcourt. Six of the athletes --- Wahl, Coughlin, Roth, Brazil,
Moran and Doumato -- are repeaters from the 1997-98 Teams of the Year.
