CRELLIN, KRATER LEAD KU TO WIN OVER ALBRIGHT FRIDAY
KUTZTOWN, Pa. —
Stephen Krater (jr.
Port Carbon/Pottsville Area) took the top spot in
three events as the Kutztown University men’s swimming team defeated
Albright College 145-106 Friday at Keystone Hall.
Krater won the 50-, 100- and 200-yard freestyles, as KU (5-1) nine
of the 14 events.
He won the 50 in 23.25 seconds, 100 in 50.47 and 200 in 1:51.91.
Jack Crellin (fr.
Pittsburgh/North Allegheny)
also picked up multiple victories, winning the 100 and 200
backstroke with times of 54.78 and 2:03.73, respectively.
David Shedleski (fr.
Mechanicsburg/Trinity),
John Pandish (sr.
Milford/Delaware Valley) and
Jeff Travor (so.
Quakertown/Quakertown Community) also won individual
events for the Golden Bears.
Shedleski won the 100 breaststroke (1:03.74), while Travor on the
200 breaststroke (2:19.73). Pandish won the 200 butterfly (2:03.34).
Crellin, Shedleski, Pandish and
Derek Orr (sr.
Easton/Easton)
teamed up to win the 200 medley relay (1:41.80).
The Golden Bears will return to the pool when they travel to
Bloomsburg for a 1 p.m. meet on Jan. 17.

GOLDEN BEARS
TAKE INDIVIDUAL EVENTS, KU WINS 150-103 OVER ALBRIGHT
KUTZTOWN, Pa. —
Four members of the Kutztown University women’s swimming team earned
multiple first-place finishes as the Golden Bears won 150-103 over
Albright College Friday at Keystone Hall.
Stephanie Jeppesen (jr.
Bethlehem/Liberty),
Alex Crigler (so. West
Lawn/Wilson High School),
Jordan Shapiro (fr.
Trenton N.J./Princeton) and
Allison Sheely (so.
Enola/Trinity) each won two events for the Golden
Bears (7-2) in the non-conference meet.
Jeppesen won the 100 and 200 breaststroke events with times of
1:09.32 and 2:28.86, respectively.
Shapiro took first in the 50 freestyle (25.72), and Sheely swept the
100 and 200 freestyles with times of 57.25 and 2:00.53,
respectively. Crigler had a first-place finish in the 500 (5:21.95).
Heather Wolkom (jr.
Rumson, N.J./Rumson Fair-Haven)
completed
the Golden Bears sweep of the freestyle events, winning the
1,000 (11:02.42).
Sheely also won the 100 backstroke (1:03.20), while Shapiro won the
200 backstroke (2:16.53).
Crigler finished in first in the 200 butterfly (2:18.33).
Jeppesen teamed up with
Nicole Hinsdale (fr.
Glen Mills/Bayard Rustin),
Katie Kelly (so.
Downingtown/Downingtown) and
Stephanie Kearns (fr.
West Chester/West Chester East) for a win in the
200 medley relay (1:55.45).
The Golden Bears will return to the pool Saturday for a home meet
against California (Pa.) starting at 1 p.m.
