Jeppesen Sets New Pool Record, KU Wins 142-106 vs. Millersville

COMPLETE RESULTS
KUTZTOWN, Pa. —
Stephanie Jeppesen (jr. Bethlehem/Liberty) set a new
Keystone Pool record in the 200 breaststroke as the Kutztown
University women’s swimming team won 142-106 over Millersville
University Saturday.
KU (10-3, 7-3 PSAC) reached the 10-win plateau for the first time in
school history, winning nine of 14 events.
Jeppesen swam the 200 breaststroke in 2:22.93, breaking the old pool
record of 2:23.59 set by Brooke Heath, of Edinboro, in November
2007.
Alex Crigler (so. West Lawn/Wilson High School),
Jordan Shapiro (fr. Trenton N.J./Princeton) and
Allison Sheely (so. Enola/Trinity) each won multiple
events for the Golden Bears.
Crigler won the 500 and 1,650 freestyle events, with times of
5:25.93 and 18:09.33, respectively.
Shapiro won the 50 free (26.06) and the 200 free (2:05.05), while
taking second in the 100 free.
Sheely swept the backstroke events, winning the 100 in 1:02.45 and
the 200 in 2:17.43.
Heather Wolkom (jr.
Rumson, N.J./Rumson Fair-Haven)
picked up a first-place victory in the 100 breaststroke, finishing
in 1:11.08.
KU also won the 200 medley relay as Jeppesen, Shapiro,
Laura Heebner (sr. Easton/Easton) and
Katie Kelly (so. Downingtown/Downingtown) took first
in 1:56.32.
The Golden Bears will swim again at 1 p.m. Feb. 7 at home against
Rowan.
