KU boast three multiple event winners, but falls 108-97 at
Shippensburg
SHIPPENSBURG, Pa.
— The Kutztown University women's swimming team dropped a
closely contested Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference meet 108-97
to Shippensburg University Friday.
KU (9-3, 6-3 PSAC)
was led by
Stephanie Jeppesen (jr.
Bethlehem/Liberty),
Alex Crigler (so. West
Lawn/Wilson High School) and reigning PSAC Swimmer of
the Week
Jordan Shapiro (fr.
Trenton N.J./Princeton),
each earning two first-place finishes.
Jeppesen won the 100 breaststroke (1:07.65) and
the 200 individual medley (2:13.28).
Shapiro took first
in the 50 freestyle (25.25) and the 100 backstroke (1:01.04), while
Crigler won both the 500 and 1,000 freestyle events with times of
5:18.03 and 10:49.76, respectively.
Shippensburg won
the remainder of the events, including the two relays.
KU will return home
for a PSAC meet against Millersville at 1 p.m. Jan. 31 at Keystone
Pool.
KU
falls 113-90 to Shippensburg
SHIPPENSBURG, Pa.
— The
Kutztown University men's swimming team won three individual events
and a relay, but it wasn't enough as Shippensburg University won
113-90 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference meet Friday.
The Golden Bears (5-3, 2-3 PSAC)
picked up individual wins from
Joe Lahovski (fr.
Allentown/Emmaus),
John Pandish (sr.
Milford/Delaware Valley)
and
Scott Thomas (sr.
Schuylkill Haven/Blue Mountain).
Lahovski won the
1,000 free (10:13.27), Thomas won the 100 back (57.05) and Pandish
won the 200 individual medley (2:02.48).
Derek Orr (sr.
Easton/Easton),
Stephen Krater (jr.
Port Carbon/Pottsville Area),
John Nicklous (sr.
Philadelphia/Father Judge)
and
Jeff Travor (so.
Quakertown/Quakertown Community)
teamed to win the 200 freestyle relay
(1:31.37).
KU will return home
for a PSAC meet against Millersville at 1 p.m. Jan. 31 at Keystone
