150-meter Back Relay: 1. Kutztown 'A': Jordan Shapiro, Nicole Hinsdale, Allison Sheely, 1:40.69

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — The Kutztown University women’s and men’s swimming team finished third and fifth, respectively, at the Ed Kennedy Memorial Meet in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

The women’s side notched the only first-place finish for KU, taking the 150-meter backstroke relay with Jordan Shapiro (fr. Trenton N.J./Princeton), Nicole Hinsdale (fr. Glen Mills/Bayard Rustin), Allison Sheely (so. Enola/Trinity) swimming the event in 1:40.69.

The KU women also scored second-place finishes in the 200 freestyle relay (2:02.44), the 150 breaststroke relay (1:54.14) and the 400 freestyle relay (4:29.29).

The women tied for third with St. Francis (Pa.) with 204 points, while Illinois State won the meet with 240 points. Middlebury was second with 210 points.

Tufts University scored 212 points to win on the men’s side, while St. Olaf (210), Middlebury (196), Bloomsburg (172) and KU (170) rounded out the top five.

The men’s top finish was third in the 400 freestyle relay (3:54.87).

The KU men’s and women’s teams will host Albright at 6 p.m. Friday, while the women will host California (Pa.) at 1 p.m. Saturday.
