Greg
Bamberger
Director of Athletics
Greg Bamberger became
Kutztown University’s director of athletics on May 1, 2005.
Since coming to Kutztown, Bamberger has overseen a successful
era in Golden Bear Athletics. KU won the 2005-06 Dixon Trophy, a first for the
institution. The trophy is awarded to the Pennsylvania State Athletic
Conference’s top athletic department.
Bamberger came to Kutztown from Glenville State College in
West Virginia, where he served as director of athletics from 2002-05.
Prior to taking over as director of athletics, Bamberger was
an assistant football coach and lecturer at Glenville for three semesters. He
was the assistant head coach, offensive coordinator and coached the offensive
line for the Pioneers.
From 1997 until 2000, Bamberger was a district sales
coordinator for AFLAC. Bamberger previously served as assistant football coach
at the Virginia Military Institute and Southeast Missouri State.
Bamberger earned his master’s degree in sports administration from Temple
University in 1989. He is a 1982 graduate of Duke University with a bachelor’s
degree in management sciences. He was a three-year starter for the Blue Devils’
football team, serving as co-captain in 1981. Bamberger was born in Abington,
Pa., and is a graduate of Phoenixville High School. He and his wife, Bernadette,
have three children.

Dr. Charles Woodard
Vice-President for Student Services & Campus Life
Dr. Charles Woodard has served as the
vice-president for student services & campus life at Kutztown since 1992.
Dr. Woodard came to KU from Savannah State
University in Georgia, where he was both the vice-president and dean of
student affairs and a professor of education from 1987-90. From
1985-87, he served as the vice chancellor for student services and was an
associate professor of education at Indiana University Northwest.
In 1982, Dr. Woodard became the chief student
affairs officer at Coppin State, after serving as Allegheny College's
associate dean of students and an adjunct professor of education from
1975-82. He was the assistant dean for special projects at the
University of Michigan-Hunt from 1973-75. During 1972-73, Dr. Woodard
held the position of senior counselor for financial aid at the University of
Michigan and was an equal opportunity office program administrator at
Michigan Blue Shield in Detroit from 1970-72.
Dr. Woodard is a 1968 graduate of Edinboro
University. He earned a master's degree from Wayne State in 1972 and
was awarded his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in 1975.
He and his wife are the parents of four
daughters and one son.

Michelle
Gober
Associate Athletics Director
Michelle Gober
assumed the role of Kutztown University's Associate Director of
Athletics in May 2005.
Gober came to Kutztown from Gallaudet University, Washington, DC.
Gober began her career at Gallaudet as head
athletic trainer, overseeing orthopedic evaluations, rehabilitation
programs and care for the Bisons’ student-athletes. In
2003, Gober assumed the role of assistant athletic director at
Gallaudet, a position she held until coming to Kutztown. In that
role, Gober served as the senior woman administrator and advisor to
the student-athlete advisory committee. She also coordinated
compliance, budgeting and scheduling, among other duties, for the
athletic department. Gober also taught athletic training courses in
George Mason University’s accredited program as an adjunct
instructor.
In her
role at Kutztown, Gober will assist the director of athletics in
coordinating Kutztown’s 21-sport NCAA Division II program. Her main
duties will include her role as coordinator of compliance, as well
as oversight of contest scheduling and games management.
Gober
is a 1997 graduate of Shenandoah University (Winchester, VA), where
she received a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, with a
concentration in sports medicine. While at Shenandoah, she was a
four-year member of the women’s basketball team, serving as captain
in 1996 and 1997. She also competed in lacrosse and softball, while
serving as a student athletic trainer from 1993-97.
Gober
received her master’s degree in exercise, fitness and health
promotion in 2004 from George Mason University (Fairfax, VA). She
is a licensed athletic trainer in Virginia and Pennsylvania and a
member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) and the
National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators (NACWAA).
A
native of Nokesville, VA, Gober is a graduate of Brentsville
District High School. She and her husband, Steve (a native of
Whitehall, PA), have one daughter, Gabrielle.
