RESULTS

SINGER, SHEELY LEAD KU IN WIN AT MILLERSVILLE SATURDAY

MILLERSVILLE, Pa.Ashley Singer (sr. Lititz/Warwick) and Allison Sheely (fr. Enola/Trinity) each won two events Saturday as the Kutztown University women’s swimming team defeated Millersville 122-78 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference meet.

Singer won the 200-yard freestyle (1:57.23) and the 100 butterfly (1:00.75), while Sheely took first in the 50 free (25.89) and the 100 backstroke (1:01.51).

Singer and Sheely also teamed up with Kelli Pry (fr. Coatesville/Coatesville) and Jill Pantelides (sr. Lansdowne/Archbishop Prendergast) to win the 200 medley relay (1:54.74).

Pry won the 200 individual medley (2:20.88), while Staci McGinty (sr. Jamison/Central Bucks East) placed first in the 100 freestyle (56.92) and Kerry Choplin (fr. West Deptford/West Deptford) won the 500 freestyle (5:28.34).

The Golden Bears (6-2, 3-2 PSAC) won eight out of 11 events and swept the top three spots in three events. Millersville (3-2, 1-1 PSAC) took the top spot in the 200 free relay, 1,000 freestyle and 100 breaststroke.

KU will return home for a 1 p.m. PSAC meet against Bloomsburg on Jan. 19.
