WOMEN’S: West Chester 148.5, Kutztown 110.5
RESULTS
KUTZTOWN, Pa.
— The Kutztown University men’s and women’s swimming teams
opened the season with losses to West Chester Saturday at Keystone
Hall.
The West Chester
men won 137-111, while the women collected a 148.5-110.5 win.
Ashley
Singer (sr. Lititz/Warwick) had two first-place finishes
Saturday. She won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:55.85,
while teaming up with Staci McGinty (sr. Jamison/Central Bucks
East), Allison Sheely (fr. Enola/Trinity) and Casey Pollard (fr.
Easton/Easton) to win the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:42.94.
Sheely also won the
50-yard backstroke with a time of 29:15.
Stephanie
Jeppesen (so. Bethlehem/Liberty) had two first-place finishes as
well, winning the 50- and 100-yard breaststroke events. Jeppesen
finished in 32.91 seconds in the 50 and 1:10.79 in the 100.
Greg Fournier
(sr. Warrington/Central Bucks East), John Pandish (jr.
Milford/Delaware Valley), John Nicklous (jr.
Philadelphia/Father Judge) and Gab Recio (fr. Lancaster/Hempfield)
all collected first-place finishes for the men.
Recio and Nicklous
tied for first in the 50-yard butterfly with at time of 25.85
seconds. Fournier was first in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing in
5:18.88, and Pandish won the 200-yard individual medley with a
2:07.06.
KU will travel to
Ramapo for a meet at 2 p.m. on Oct. 27.
