KU men win 7-2 over visiting Adelphi Friday

KUTZTOWN, Pa. — The Kutztown University men’s tennis team defeated Adelphi 7-2 Friday in non-conference play.

Lukas Labitsch (sr. Bruck an der Mur, AUSTRIA) and Santiago Baquerizo (sr. Guayaquil, ECUADOR) won their doubles match, as well as winning their individual contests.

The duo teamed up for KU (4-2) to defeat Alex Molotsky and Tomasz Walczak 8-5 in the No. 1 doubles match.

Baquerizo also defeated Walczak in their No. 1 singles match, 7-6, 4-6 (10-0).

Labitsch won his No. 2 singles match, defeating Sebastian Nieves 6-3, 6-3.

Kaushik Das (Assam, INDIA) won two matches, as well, teaming with Rubens Vianna (sr. Belo Horizonte, BRAZIL) to win 8-1 at No. 3 doubles.

Das also won at No. 3 singles, defeating Molotsky 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.

Arpit Sharma (jr. Kolkata, INDIA) defeated Bandar Kayali in the No. 5 singles, 6-1, 7-5.

Andrew Torrealba (jr. Pembroke Pines, Fla./Charles W. Flanagan) closed out the singles competition with a win in the sixth spot, 6-1, 6-0 over Leonard Bruno.
