KU falls 5-4 to Queens in opening match of Bloomsburg Duals

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. — Lukas Labitsch (sr. Bruck an der Mur, AUSTRIA) went 2-0 for the Kutztown University men's tennis team, but the Golden Bears fell 5-4 to Queens College in their opening match Friday at the Bloomsburg Duals.

Labitsch defeated David Burstein 6-2, 6-4 in the No. 3 singles match. He also teamed with Arpit Sharma (jr. Kolkata, INDIA) to defeat Fabio Minami and James Preston 8-6 in the No. 2 doubles match.

Kaushik Das (Assam, INDIA) and Rubens Vianna (sr. Belo Horiznote, BRAZIL) won 8-4 over Patryk Polus and Danilo Hiraoko at No. 1 doubles, while Santiago Baquerizo (sr. Guayaquil, ECUADOR) picked up a win at No. 1 singles, defeating Polus 6-0, 6-2.
