KU men knock off No. 1 team in the region, West Virginia Wesleyan

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. — Lukas Labitsch (sr. Bruck an der Mur, AUSTRIA) finished the Bloomsburg Duals with a 6-0 record, helping the Kutztown University men's tennis team defeat the No. 1 regionally-ranked West Virginia Wesleyan Saturday.

Labitsch won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3 singles, defeating Danilo Franciscon. He also paired up with Arpit Sharma (jr. Kolkata, INDIA) to defeat Rafael Cavalcante and Daniel Lobo 8-6. Sharma also won 6-2, 6-2 over Doug Hornak in the No. 5 singles match.

Santiago Baquerizo (sr. Guayaquil, ECUADOR), Kaushik Das (Assam, INDIA) and Jonathan Goulet (jr. Quebec, CANADA) also were 2-0 in the match.

Baquerizo won 6-4, 6-3 over Cavalcante at No. 1 singles and paired up with Goulet to win 8-1 at No. 3 doubles.

Das paired up with Rubens Vianna (sr. Belo Horiznote, BRAZIL) to win 8-2 at No. 1 doubles.

Andrew Torrealba (jr. Pembroke Pines, Fla./Charles W. Flanagan) also earned a victory at No. 6 singles.
