KU men roll to 7-2 win at Bloomsburg

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. — The Kutztown University men’s tennis team defeated Bloomsburg University 7-2 in their Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference match Thursday.

KU (7-3, 3-0 PSAC) was led by Lukas Labitsch (sr. Bruck an der Mur, AUSTRIA) and Arpit Sharma (jr. Kolkata, INDIA), who each went 2-0 on the day.

The two Golden Bears teamed up to win the No. 2 doubles match 8-1, and Labitsch won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 2 singles. Sharma won in straight sets of 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 singles.

Andrew Torrealba (jr. Pembroke Pines, Fla./Charles W. Flanagan) and Jonathan Goulet (jr. Quebec, CANADA) also won their singles matches against Bloomsburg.

The Golden Bears will return to the courts at 2 p.m. Wednesday for a PSAC home match against Millersville. 

KU women drop 5-4 PSAC East match to Bloomsburg

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. — The Kutztown University women’s tennis team fell short in its Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East match against Bloomsburg University, dropping a 5-4 decision Thursday.

Rohini Das (jr. Calcutta, INDIA) and Barbara Joerns (jr. Ludwigshafen, GERMANY) led the way for the Golden Bears (9-3, 3-1 PSAC East), winning at No. 1 doubles and No. 1 and 2 singles, respectively.

Sabrina Arnaud (jr. Pintendre, CANADA) picked up the other KU win at No. 3 singles.

The Golden Bears will return to the courts at 2 p.m. Wednesday for a PSAC East home match against Millersville.
