Bison Open
DAY 1 RESULTS
LEWISBURG, Pa.
— James Dart (sr. Havertown/Haverford) led the Kutztown
University men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams during the
first day of competition with a new school record at the Bison Open Friday.
Dart was the only
Golden Bear to finish first in the unscored meet, with a
school-record breaking throw of
54-2 in the men’s shot put. The throw also placed him in
seventh on the NCAA Division II list.
Kelly Strickland
(so. Bear, Del./Caravel Academy) recorded the highest finish on
the women’s side, taking second in the pole vault with a jump of
10-10.
Ian Clark (jr.
Troy, N.H./Monadnock Regional) is currently in fourth out of 10
athletes in the men’s heptathlon with 2,481 points. His best
finish in the event was in the high jump competition, placing third
with a jump of 6-2.
Kristen Cupido (fr.
Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) qualified for the
Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference meet with her fifth-place
finish in the 5,000 (18:28.21).
The women's
distance medley relay team, consisting of Joanna Horstmann (jr.
Downingtown/Downingtown West), Keri Brown (fr. Southampton,
N.J./Seneca), Stephanie Williams (sr. Harrisburg/Riverside)
and Doofan Tor-Agbidye (jr. Stewartsville, N.J./Phillipsburg),
finished fourth and met an NCAA provisional qualifying mark with a
time of 12:24.19.
KU will continue
its competition at 10 a.m. today at the Bison Open.
