Boutsikaris finishes 16th at nationals
SAN ANGELO, Texas —
Chris Boutsikaris (sr. Newton, N.J./Newton) finished in 16th
place in the hammer throw at the NCAA Division II Championships at
Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas.
Boutsikaris best throw
on the day registered at 162-04 to finish behind a pair of throwers
from Nebraska-Kearney.
Boutsikaris entered the event seeded in 14th place with a distance
of 187-5, which gave him a second-place finish at the Pennsylvania
State Athletic Conference two weeks prior.
On the season,
Boutsikaris broke the KU school record with his hammer throw
distance at the PSAC Championships.

Boutsikaris heading to Nationals in hammer throw
KUTZTOWN, Pa. —
The Kutztown University men’s outdoor track and field team will send
Chris
Boutsikaris (sr. Newton/Newton) to the NCAA Division
II Outdoor Track and Field National Championships at Angelo State
University in San Angelo, Texas, May 21-23.
The hammer throw will kick start the
field events at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 21.
Boutsikaris placed second in the
hammer throw in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference
Championships at Millersville with a throw of 187-5. That throw was
his farthest of the season, and will seed him 14th at the Nationals.
This will be Boutsikaris’ first trip
to Nationals. Last season he placed first in the javelin and third
in the hammer throw at the PSAC Championships. In the prior season
he placed eighth in the hammer throw at the PSAC Championships.
