POSTS TWO FIRST-PLACE FINISHES FOR KU WOMEN
SELINSGROVE, Pa.

Ashley Pinter
(so. Bethlehem/Liberty) led the Kutztown University
women’s indoor track and field team with two of the Golden Bears’
four first-place finishes at the 2009 Susquehanna Open Saturday.
Pinter finished first in the weight throw (51-5 1/4) and in the shot
put (43-3 1/4).
Kelly Strickland
(jr. Bear, Del./Caravel Academy) also took first,
winning the pole vault (10-11 3/4), and
Katie Quinn (jr.
Glenolden/Interboro) won the 55-meter dash (7.54).
Melissa
Fellenbaum (fr. Landisville/Hempfield) recorded a
third-place finish behind Strickland with a vault of 10-0.
Alison Wise (jr.
Fivepointville/Garden Spot) was sixth (9-6 1/2).
Samirah
Barczynski (jr. Mohnton/Governor Mifflin) (7.63)
finished third behind Quinn in the 55 dash, and
Brooke Mathews
(fr. Reedsville/Indian Valley) was fifth (7.70).
Quinn also finished second in the 200 (26.84), with Mathews placing
fourth (27.29) and
Sarah Messner
(so. Maple Glen/Upper Dublin) (27.63).
Christina
Costanzo (fr. Philadelphia/Archbishop Ryan) finished
second in two events, the triple jump (34-7 3/4) and the long jump
(16-5 3/4).
Alex Butler (sr.
Montoursville/Montoursville) tied for seventh in the
long jump (15-9 1/2).
Joanna Horstmann
(sr. Downingtown/Downingtown West) and
Kristy Ulrich (fr.
Duncannon/Susquenita) also nabbed second-place
finishes for KU, with Horstmann running a 2:17.86 in the 800 and
Ulrich finishing in 10:44.97 in the 3,000.
Katie Colburn
(so. Hanover/South Western) was second in the 55
hurdles (9.15) and
Alyson Serafin
(so. Slatington/Northern Lehigh) was fourth (9.45).
In the 400,
Doofan Tor-Agbidye
(sr. Stewartsville, N.J./Phillipsburg) was fourth
(1:02.48) and
Jessica
Schlecter (jr. Chalfont/Central Bucks South) was
eighth (1:03.19).
KU also collected a second-place finish in the 1,600 relay and third
in the distance medley relay.
BOUTSIKARIS LEADS KU MEN WITH TOP SPOT IN THE WEIGHT THROW
SELINSGROVE, Pa.

Christian
Boutsikaris (sr. Newton/Newton) recorded a
first-place finish in the weight throw to lead the Kutztown
University men’s indoor track and field team at the 2009 Susquehanna
Open Saturday.
KU also had a first-place finish in the 1,600-meter relay.
Boutsikaris took first with a throw of 55-0 1/2, followed by
Jason Rebuck (jr.
Southampton/William Tennent) in fourth (51-9) and
Sam Wall (so.
Newville/Big Spring) (49-2 1/2). Wall also was fifth
in the shot put (47-6 1/2).
Kendel Dixon (jr.
Atglen/Octorara) finished second in the 400 (50.37)
and
Shaun Crump (jr.
Boyertown/Boyertown) was sixth (52.56).
T.J. Longmore (jr.
Lititz/Manheim Twp.) also posted a second-place
finish, running the 55 hurdles in 7.84 seconds.
Shane Harvey
(so. Pattenburg, N.J./North Hunterdon) was right
behind Longmore, finishing third (7.85).
Cody Hartzler
(sr. Belleville/Indian Valley) had a third-place
finish in the high jump (6-2 3/4), and
William Hodges (jr.
Levittown/Neshaminy) was third in the pole vault
(14-5 1/4), ahead of teammate
Justin Germani
(so. Birdsboro/Daniel Boone), who was seventh (13-5
1/4).
Matt Reightler
(so. Bethlehem/Northampton) rounded out the KU top
eight individual marks with a fifth-place finish in the 800
(2:00.06).
