DINGMAN LEADS PACK OF TOP-10 FINISHERS AT LEHIGH VALLEY INVITATIONAL
BETHLEHEM, Pa — The Kutztown University
women’s cross country team opened the 2008 campaign with a
second-place finish at the Lehigh Valley Invitational at Lehigh
University Friday.
The Golden Bears placed five runners in the top 10, scoring 32
points, just five behind first-place finisher Lehigh University.
Lafayette University was third with 77 points and Muhlenberg College
(127) and Moravian College (128) rounded out the five schools
competing.
Cheryl Dingman (jr. Lansdale/North Penn)
led the Golden Bears, placing third with a time of 22:36.
Joanna Horstmann (sr. Downingtown/Downingtown West)
followed in fourth (22:45) and
Kristin Cupido (so. Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan)
was sixth (22:58).
Keri Brown (so. Southampton, N.J./Seneca),
Cristina Reimer (so. Chester Spring/Downingtown East) and
Hailey Dell (sr. Saranac Lake, N.Y./Saranac Lake) swept
ninth through 11th place, respectively. Brown finished two seconds
ahead of Reimer in 23:04 and Dell clocked in at 23:11.
Kristy Ulhrich (fr. Duncannon/Susquenita)
rounded out the Golden Bears’ top seven, placing 17th (23:33).
The Golden Bears will run again when they host the Maroon and Gold
Classic at 10 a.m. Sept. 6 on North Campus at Kutztown University.
KU MEN OPEN SEASON WITH THIRD-PLACE FINISH AT LEHIGH VALLEY
INVITATIONAL
KUTZTOWN, Pa. —

Loht (jr. Lewistown/Indian Valley) and
Kevin Rodgers (so. Clifton Heights/Upper Darby) led the
Kutztown University men’s cross country team to a third-place finish
at the Lehigh Valley Invitational at Lehigh University Friday.
With five runners placing in the top 20, KU totaled 78 points.
Lehigh University and Lafayette University finished ahead of the
Golden Bears with 17 and 52 points, respectively.
Moravian College followed in fourth (104) and Muhlenberg College
finishing fifth
(129).
Loht led KU runners with an 11th-place finish with a time of 26:43. Finishing 12th was teammate
Rodgers
at 27:17.
Frank Nick (fr. Kintnersville/Palisades) and
Paul Kuehnle (fr. Saddle Brook, N.J./Saddle Brook) finished
back-to-back with Nick placing 17th and one second ahead of Kuehnle
with a time of 27:55. With a time of 28:07,
Ryan Reich (fr. Oley/Oley Valley) placed 20th.
Finishing with times of 30:54 and 31:01 were
Jubilant Kunce (fr. Red Lion/Red Lion Area) and
Steve Guthrie (fr. Chester Springs/Devon Prep) which were
good for 38th and 39th place.
The Golden Bears will run again when they host the Maroon and Gold
Classic at 10 a.m. Sept. 6 on North Campus at Kutztown University.
