Horstmann Sets KU Record at Paul Short Invitational
BETHLEHEM, Pa — The Kutztown University
women’s cross country team finished in 25th place out of 43
teams in the College "Brown" race at the Paul Short Inviational at Lehigh University on Friday
afternoon.
The Brown race
included the Division I and nationally ranked Division II and III
teams. KU is ranked No. 19 in the latest Division II coaches
poll.
Leading the Golden Bears was
Joanna Horstmann (sr. Downingtown/Downingtown West), who
set a KU record by finishing at 21:53, placing her 74th out of 301
runners.
Cristina Reimer (so. Chester Spring/Downingtown East)
finished at 142nd with a time of 22:44.
Hailey Dell (Saranac Lake, N.Y./Saranac Lake) came in next
for Kutztown at 161st (22:53).
Kristin Cupido (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) and
Kristy Ulrich (fr. Duncannon/Susquenita)
were separated by a few
seconds to finish 181st (23:06) and 188th (23:12), respectively.
Rounding out the final two
spots for KU were
Maureen Watson (jr. Walnutport/Allentown Central Catholic)
at 197th (23:16) and
Keri Brown (so. Southampton, N.J./Seneca) at 269th (24:33)
The Golden Bears will run again at the Lafayette Invitational on
Saturday, October 18th at 10 a.m.
KU Men
Finish 24th at Paul Short Invitational
BETHLEHEM , Pa. —
The Kutztown University men's cross country team finished 24th
out of 41 teams at the Paul Short Invitational "White" race at
Lehigh University on Friday afternoon.
The White race included non-Division I teams.
Ryan Reich (fr. Oley/Oley Valley) led all Kutztown
runners by placing 53rd with a time of 27:11.
Frank Nick (fr. Kintersville/Palisades)
and
Paul Kuehnle (fr. Saddle Brook, N.J./Saddle Brook) finished
59th (27:18) and 78th (27:35) respectively.
Jubilant Kunce (fr. Red Lion/Red Lion) and
Steve Guthrie (fr. Chester Springs/Devon Prep) rounded
out the last two spots for Kutztown with times of 29:35 and 30:21.
The Golden Bears will run again at the Lafayette Invitational on
Saturday, October 18th at 10 a.m.
