EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa . — The Kutztown University
women’s cross country team placed second with three runners in the top 10 to
finish second at the Pete Nevins Invitational Saturday at East
Stroudsburg University.
KU finished with 48
points, behind only East Stroudsburg with 34 points. Moravian
College and Drew University third (91) and fourth (95) respectively.
Rounding out the top five was Baptist Bible with 124 points.
Lindsey Ray (fr. Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat) led the pack with
a first-place finish at a time of 20:12.
The next KU
finisher was
Chelsea Ray (fr. Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat) at fourth with
a time of 20:35. Finishing ninth was
Jill Kostishion (fr. Hilltown/Pennridge) at a time of
21:10.
Holly Pinkerton (sr. Pen Argyl/Pen Argyl) finished 17th
(21:48) and behind her at 19th was teammate
Lauren Ayars (jr. Ocean Twp. N.J./Ocean Twp.) at 22:01.
Michele Celenza (sr. Harleysville/North Penn) and
Jessica Frederick (fr. Whitehall/Whitehall) were the final
two runners for KU. They placed 32nd and 36th, respectively, with
times of 23:04 and 23:35.
The Golden Bears will run next at the PSAC Championships at Lock
Haven at 11 a.m. Oct. 31.
