21, 2009) – The latest
rankings have been released by the U.S. Track and Field and
Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), placing the Kutztown
men's cross-country team in sixth in the Atlantic Region.
Kutztown, which was picked to finish
tenth overall
in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) by the preseason
coaches’ poll previews,

their three most current finishes.
The previous two
weeks, the men had been ranked seventh, but after the performance at
the Nevins Invitational at East Stroudsburg, the Golden Bears moved
up a spot.
The USTFCCA ranks
the top 10 teams within the Atlantic Region every week. Within the
top 10 teams, nine are PSAC schools. The first seven spots are
currently represented by PSAC schools.
Ranked first since
the start of the season is Edinboro. Shippensburg (No. 2), Lock
Haven (No. 3), East Stroudsburg (No. 4), and Slippery Rock (No. 5),
round out the top five positions. Following Kutztown (No. 6), is
Bloomsburg (No. 7), Seton Hill (No. 8), Indiana of PA (No. 9), and
Mansfield, (No. 10).
Kutztown returns to action this weekend, Saturday Oct. 31, when they
perform in the PSAC Championships held on the Edinboro University
campus.
