Baseball blanks Lebanon Valley 13-0

ANNVILLE, Pa. — The Kutztown University baseball team won its third straight game Thursday as it blanked the Flying Dutchmen of Lebanon Valley College 13-0.

KU (10-10) scored 13 runs on 13 hits, with several of Golden Bears having a solid day at the plate. Andy May (r-fr. Biglerville/Biglerville) went 3-for-5 with three base hits and an RBI, while Jeff Kistle (fr. Sandyston, N.J./Kittatinny) was 2-for-3 with two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI.

Chad Lightcap (jr. Boyertown/Boyertown) and James Quigley (fr. Bensalem/Bensalem) also had doubles for KU.

KU used four pitchers on the day, with Mike Moran (Fabius, N.Y./Fabius Pompey) getting the start. He threw three innings, allowing two hits and striking out three. Jordan Smith (New Milford/Blue Ridge) earned his first collegiate victory, as he threw two innings, allowing three hits and striking out three.

Jason Herr (Harrisburg/C.D. East) and Ryan Cassidy (Langhorne/Archbishop Wood) also threw two innings apiece for the Golden Bears.

With the win, KU has now outscored their last three opponents 35-2 and will host PSAC East opponent Bloomsburg on Saturday. Friday's doubleheader at Bloomsburg has been postponed to Sunday. The first pitch both days is slated for 1 pm.
