KU swept by Millersville 5-1, 6-0
MILLERSVILLE,
Pa.
— The Kutztown University baseball team dropped
two contests Friday against Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference
East foe Millersville University by the scores of 5-1 and 6-0 at
Millersville.
KU (15-16, 4-6 PSAC East) will turn
around and play the Marauders again at 1 p.m. Saturday in a
doubleheader at North Campus Field.
Game 1:
Millersville 5, Kutztown 1
BOXSCORE
KU mustered only
three hits in game one of the double-dip. Jeff Kistle (fr.
Sandyston, N.J./Kittatinny) had two hits and Chad Lightcap (jr.
Boyertown/Boyertown) accounted for the other.
KU scored one run
in the top half of the first inning, as Lightcap scored on an error
by Millersville shortstop Lance Miller.
Philip Rummel
(sr. Exeter/West-Mont Christian) took the loss for KU on the
hill, as he threw a complete-game four-hitter. Only one of the five
runs he allowed were earned, as KU committed four errors in the
contest. The senior is now 4-3 on the season.
Ryan Stauffer
picked up the win, as he pitched six innings for the Marauders,
allowing three hits and one unearned run.
Game 2:
Millersville 6, Kutztown 0

Garrison
Rausch (sr. Allentown/Parkland) and
James Quigley (fr. Bensalem/Bensalem) had the only hits of the
game for the Golden Bears, as KU fell 6-0 in game two on the
doubleheader.
Although KU had
only two hits, it managed to draw seven walks off of Millersville
starter Josh Eckley, who picked up the win for the Marauders.
Mike
Kacelowicz (so. Orwigsburg/Blue Mountain)
and Scott Kacelowicz (fr. Orwigsburg/Blue Mountain) both had
two free passes apiece for the Golden Bears.
Justin
Jachowicz (sr. Summit Hill/Panther Valley)
took the loss for KU, as he threw four innings,
allowed three hits and one run. He falls to 0-3 on the season.
