Chris Blum |
The Golden Bears (7-9) added another win in Friday’s second
game, defeating Fairmont State 3-2 in 10 innings.
Blum is now 201-79 in his sixth season at the helm. He reached 200
wins in his 279th game, eclipsing the mark of Mansfield University
head coach Harry Hillson, who recorded his 200th win in his 314th
game in 1993.
“This is a testament to all of the guys who have played baseball at
KU,” Blum said. “The players are the ones who got the 200 wins, I
had little to do with it.”
KU
finishes the Savannah Invite with an even record of 4-4. The Golden
Bears will return to the diamond at 2:30 p.m. on March 21 for their
first home game of the season when they will host Wilmington (Del.).
KU will then host the University of the Sciences in a doubleheader
at 1 p.m. March 22.
