KU Rolls to 9-2 win over Millersville
at PSACs

LANCASTER, Pa. —
Mike Kacelowicz was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and Derick
Reis was masterful on the mound to lead Kutztown to a 9-2 win
over Millersville in game six of the PSAC baseball championship at
Clipper Magazine Stadium.
Kutztown (27-23) advances to face
West Chester, which won 5-2 over Shippensburg earlier on Thursday.
The game will be the first of three on Friday, with first pitch at
noon.
Kacelowicz had three of KU's 12
hits on the day. James Quigley, Scott Kacelowicz
and Mark Renda each had two hits. Garrison Rausch
and Chad Lightcap drove in three runs apiece.
Rausch cleared the bases in the
first inning, staking KU to a 3-0 lead. Millersville cut the
lead to 3-2 in hits half of the second on a two-run double by
Enrique Arroyo.
It was the only offense allowed by
KU hurler Reis (4-2), who went 7.2 innings and allowed six
hits and struck out four.
Kutztown extended its lead in the
sixth on a solo homer by Jeff Kistle. KU added another run in
the seventh when Mike Kacelowicz scored on an error after stealing
third.
The Golden Bears then broke it open
in the eighth. Lightcap belted a three-run homer deep to left
field. Mike Kacelowicz then singled and scored on Quigley's
single for the 9-2 lead.
Trent Mertz finished the
eighth inning on the mound for KU and Ryan Cassidy retired
the side in the ninth to close the door.
Ryan Stauffer (6-4) took the loss
for Millersville, striking out two over 6.1 innings.
Millersville falls to the loser's
bracket, where the Marauders will face Shippensburg at 3:30 pm
Friday. The loser is eliminated.
