KUTZTOWN, PA (November 4, 2009) – Kutztown University baseball coach Christopher Blum has added Jeff Pinder to his coaching staff.

Knowledgeable in all aspects of baseball, Pinder will primarily work with hitters and catchers.

He comes to Kutztown after spending two years as the Widener University hitting coach. Pinder made an immediate impact in 2008 as Widener led the Commonwealth Conference in batting average, slugging percentage and home runs.

Prior to coming to Widener, Pinder was the head coach at St. Pius X High School the past three years. St. Pius X in 2006 won the District 1 AA District Title and went to the state semifinals.

He has also served as an assistant coach for the Boyertown American Legion Bears the past three years. The Bears in 2007 advanced to the American Legion World Series and finished fourth in the country. Pinder has been involved in coaching baseball the past 15 years at many different levels, including junior high school.

Pinder, who played baseball at Northampton County Community College, resides in Gilbertsville, PA with his wife, Liz and son Mitch, 11.
