SLIPPERY ROCK, PA.
– Corey Manfull rushed for 170 yards and three touchdowns to lead
Slippery Rock to a 45-9 win over Kutztown University in a
Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference crossover Saturday night.
Manfull
scored on runs of 2, 96 and 6 yards. Nate Crookshank passed for 168
yards and ran for a 21-yard TD. The Rock added a TD on a 14-yard
reverse run by wideout Paul Favers, and an 87-yard interception
return by Richie Barnes. Favers finished with 71 yards on five
catches.
Kutztown scored on field goals of 35, 21 and 30 yards by Matt Dineen,
all in the first half. The three field goals ties KU's
single-game record, also held by Emerson Johnson (1995) and Mike
Attardi (1986) The Golden Bears were hampered by costly
penalties, being flagged nine times for 71 yards.
Kyle
Spotts was 20-of-37 for 180 yards, but was intercepted three times.
Ty Dinnis rushed for 72 yards on 17 carries and Elfren Quiles caught
five passes for 44 yards.
Slippery Rock improves to 4-0 on the season, while Kutztown falls to
2-2. KU returns home for a contest against American International
College next Saturday at 6:05 PM. Slippery Rock hosts on Indiana
(PA).
