BOXSCORE

KUTZTOWN, Pa. Shane Martin (jr. New Holland/Garden Spot) threw two touchdowns in the final five minutes and the Kutztown University defense held its ground in a 21-14 come-from-behind Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East win over C.W. Post Saturday at University Field.

Kutztown ties a school record with its fourth PSAC East win of the year. KU is now 5-5 overall, including a 4-3 record in the division.

Martin finished with 185 yards on 13-of-29 passing. He also ran for 70 yards on 13 carries. Dontay Wilson (jr. Stamford, Conn./Stamford) led all players with 111 yards on 22 carries.

C.W. Post quarterback Nick Georgetti finished 23-of-41 for 314 yards and two touchdowns.

Martin’s touchdown passes to Jason Uhlig (so. Blue Bell/Wissahickon) and Kendell Coleman (so. Philadelphia/Martin Luther King) helped KU (5-5, 4-3) overcome a 14-3 deficit to the PSAC East newcomer.

C.W. Post, which joined the conference as an associate member in 2008, scored two second-quarter touchdowns to make it 14-3 and held the KU offense for three and a half quarters. Georgetti connected on TD passes of 49 and 33 yards to Cisco Ragsdale and Chris Harris, respectively.

Matt Dineen (so. Wilmington, Del./Concord) had two field goals, including a career-best 38-yarder with 1:44 left in the first half to cut C.W. Post’s lead to 14-6. He extends his single-season record to 13 field goals.

The defense, after allowing touchdowns on back-to-back second-quarter drives, held C.W. Post to six punts and two fumbles on their next eight possessions. KU sacked Georgetti seven times, including three times on the Pioneers' final drive that ended with time expiring.

Post appeared poised for a game-clinching score, leading 14-6 midway through the fourth quarter.  On second-and-goal at KU's 4-yard line, Georgetti fumbled on a sack by Sam McKellar and KU's Craig Moose recovered.

Wilson then scampered for 45 yards on a draw play to set up Martin's 34-yard TD pass to UhligMartin and Uhlig connected again on the two-point conversion for a 14-14 score with 5:14 to play.

KU forced a punt on the Pioneers next possession and took over at its own 16 with 3:50 to play.  Martin was 4-of-4 for 39 yards and ran for another 17 yards to set up his 22-yard strike to Coleman, giving KU the lead with just 45 seconds left.

Post's last chance stalled near midfield, as KU's defense sacked Georgetti three times, including two by Kevin Branco (sr. Hellertown/Saucon Valley) and another by Nick Cresta (sr. Wallingford/Strath Haven) as time expired.

Mike Gardier (jr. Dunmore/Dunmore) and McKellar led KU with 13 tackles each.  McKellar had a sack.  Branco had seven tackles, including 2.5 sacks. Keith Massey (so. Allentown/William Allen) had 11 tackles and a sack.

Kutztown will conclude its season at Indiana (Pa.) next week. Kickoff at Miller stadium is set for 1 p.m.
