Kutztown football announces 2009 award winners
: Redshirt freshman quarterback Kevin Morton  was named the overall team most valuable player. Senior defensive back Mike Gardier and junior linebacker Joel Irwin were named co-defensive MVPs. Senior running back Dontay Wilson was named the offensive MVP and junior kicker Matt Dineen was named the special teams MVP. The Jody Cwik Memorial Award went to junior lineman Jake Thierjung. Five Golden Bears named to All-PSAC East teams: Kutztown University junior kicker Matt Dineen headlined the list of Golden Bears with a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference first-team selection. : Matt Dineen made a Kutztown single-game record five field goals during its 35-21 victory over Cheyney Saturday afternoon. Dineen also tied his school record for field goals made in a single season with 13. Dineen made field goals of 41, 41, 29, 38 and 28 yards against Cheyney to improve to 13-for-14 on the season. : Kutztown junior kicker Matt Dineen etched his name into the record books for the second time this season by making a KU single-game record five field goals during Kutztown's 35-21 victory over Cheyney Saturday afternoon. : Kicker Matt Dineen established a school record with his 25th career field goal during KU's 31-12 defeat to Bloomsburg. Dineen, who was 2-for-2 in field goals against the Huskies, set the school standard on a 38-yard field goal nine seconds into the fourth quarter. SEASON OPENER TIME CHANGE

The KU season-opening football game scheduled for Saturday August 29, 2009 against Saint Anselm College has been changed to a 10:00 a.m. kickoff at Grappone Stadium in Manchester (NH). The game, which was originally scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m., was moved up because the area could be affected by Tropical Storm Danny.
