The Kutztown University men’s basketball team extended its winning
streak to six games with a 67-52 victory at Bloomsburg University Saturday.
KU, playing without
its leading scorer, the injured
Stephen Dennis (so. West Chester/Henderson), still boasted four players in double digits
in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East contest.
Andre Woodlin (jr. Philadelphia/Central) paced the Golden Bears (12-5, 4-0 PSAC
East) with 14
points, while Ryan Washington (r-fr. Glenside/Wissahickon) missed
a double-double with 12 points and nine boards. He also dished
out five assists.
The team’s second
leading scorer, Dave Ben (Coatesville/Coatesville), played
for 38 minutes and scored 12 points. Jeremy Coombs (Philadelphia/Northeast Catholic) scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds.
KU held
Bloomsburg (8-10, 0-4 PSAC East) to 34.5 percent from the field on the
contest and allowed only two players to score in double digits.
Nick Jones had 16 points and John Allen had 12 points and nine
rebounds.
KU also
outrebounded Bloomsburg 37-30 in the game and forced 11 turnovers.
With the win,
KU is 4-0, tying the school's best start in the PSAC East.
The Golden Bears will look
to win
their seventh straight game when they travel to Washington, D.C., to
take on District of Columbia in a non-conference match up at 7 p.m.
Wednesday.
