BOXSCORE
EAST
STROUDSBURG, Pa.
— Dave Ben scored a career-high 32 points to lead a
stellar second-half come-from-behind victory in a 78-56 Kutztown win
at East Stroudsburg Wednesday night.
Ben scored
24 of his points after halftime, as Kutztown outscored the Warriors
52-19 in the second half, turning an 11-point halftime deficit into
a rout. His previous career high was 31 points, scored against
Lock Haven last season.
With the win, the
Golden Bears (13-7, 5-1 PSAC East) move into a tie with idle Cheyney
for first place in the PSAC East.
Andre Woodlin
scored 14 points and Stephen Dennis added 10 points, 10
rebounds and five blocks.
Kutztown stumbled
out of the gates in the first half, as the Warriors led by as many
as 13 in the first 20 minutes. ESU took a 37-26 lead into
halftime and hit the first basket of the second half for a 13-point
edge.
But then, it was
all Kutztown.
The Golden Bears
scored the next 17 points, the last 12 by Ben, for a 43-39 KU
lead.
A layup by ESU's
Dawud Lyons briefly halted the run, but Kutztown promptly tore off
an 11-0 run, featuring four more points by Ben, and the Bears
never looked back.
Kutztown shot a
blistering 63 percent from the field in the second half, while
holding the Warriors to just 13 percent and four field goals.
Channon Easley led
East Stroudsburg with 12 points. Chris Bach added 12 rebounds.
Kutztown will host
West Chester on Saturday at Keystone Hall.
