WEST CHESTER,
Pa. — Ryan Washington (r-fr. Glendale/Wissahickon)
finished with a game-high 16 points and was one rebound shy of a
double-double as the Kutztown University men’s basketball team
defeated West Chester 70-54 at Hollinger Field House Saturday.

Six of
Washington’s points came during an 11-1 Golden Bear run early in
the first half of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference
East contest, helping KU build a 22-15 lead.
West Chester (8-7,
0-1 PSAC East) cut the lead to three points with 7:09 left in the
first half, but that was as close as the Golden Rams got, as KU
(10-5, 2-0 PSAC East) built an 11-point halftime lead at 35-24 and
pushed its lead to 20 points midway through the second half.
Dave Ben (jr.
Coatesville/Coatesville) scored 14 points and had seven
rebounds, and Stephen Dennis (so. West Chester/Henderson) had
11 points. Ben also had a game-high seven steals.
Andre Woodlin (jr.
Philadelphia/Central) had nine points and 10 rebounds for KU.
The Golden Bears
shot 50 percent from the field, making 32-of-64 shots.
Ralph Hegamin led
West Chester with 14 points, while Kehinde Roberts had 13 and
Kenneth St. George had 11.
KU, which has won
nine of its last 11 contests, will return home to host Millersville
at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Keystone Hall in a PSAC East contest.
