KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Andre Woodlin scored 22 points
and Dave Ben added 20 to lead Kutztown to a 112-96 win over Columbia
Union Wednesday night at Keystone Hall.
Kutztown’s 112 points were its
third-most in a game in school history, and the 208 points combined
are the most ever for a KU men’s game at Keystone Hall.
Stephen Dennis added 19 points,
Nate Edwards hit for 16 an Ryan Washington scored 12 to round out
KU’s scoring leaders. Kevin Hafera matched career highs with eight
points and eight rebounds on his senior night.
Cliffone Ault led all players with
36 points. Maurice Stallion had 17 points, while Dana Clark and Tim
Turner scored 13 each.
Kutztown never trailed in the
contest, leading 47-36 at halftime. The Golden Bears opened the
second half with a 13-3 run to take a 21-point lead less than three
minutes into the second half. KU took its largest lead, 70-43,
with 15:30 left before cruising to the easy win.
KU went over the 100 point mark on
Nate Edwards’ free throw with 5:18 left. It was KU’s first time over
the century mark since defeating CUC 100-88 last season.
KU’s 112 points are third most in a
game for KU. The record of 116 was set against Trenton State (now
College of New Jersey) in 1960, with KU scoring 113 against East
Stroudsburg in 1969. The previous record for combined points at
Keystone Hall was 202, in a 108-94 loss to Pitt-Johnstown in
1994-95.

season hosting East Stroudsburg on Saturday.
PLAYOFF UPDATE: Kutztown
University’s men’s basketball team secured a home game in the first
round of the PSAC Playoffs, with Cheyney’s 77-69 win over
Millersville Wednesday night.
Cheyney’s (10-2) win
gives the Wolves the No. 1 seed, and the right to host the PSAC
final four, pending a first-round playoff win against the No. 4 seed
(either East Stroudsburg or Millersville). KU will be the No. 2
seed and will face either Millersville or East Stroudsburg in the
first round of the playoffs. KU (9-2) can claim a share of the PSAC
East regular-season crown with a win over East Stroudsburg on
Saturday.
