Millersville defeats Kutztown, 80-67

MILLERSVILLE, PA - Dave Ben scored 29 points, but Kutztown lost to Millersville, 80-67, Wednesday night.

Ben was 10-of-18 from the floor and hit 7-of-8 free throws.  Nate Edwards added 13 points and Ryan Washington had 18 rebounds.

Reggie Bates scored 29 points for Millersville.  Charlie Parker scored 14, Bernard Brown scored 13 and RayQuan Miles had 11.  Miles led MU with 13 boards.

Kutztown led 34-33 at halftime, but Millersville took the lead for good just over four minutes into the second half, 42-41.  KU trailed just 57-53 with 5:48 to play, but Bates sandwiched a 3 pointer and a three-point play around a KU bucket to build an eight-point edge.  KU never got closer than six the rest of the way.

Kutztown (16-8, 8-2) now falls a game behind Cheyney (9-1), who defeated West Chester Wednesday, in the PSAC East standings.  Millersville (18-6, 7-2) is a half game behind Kutztown for second place.

Kutztown travels to Cheyney on Saturday.
