Dave Ben (sr. Coatesville/Coatesville)
scored 31 points to lead the Kutztown University men’s basketball
team to an 88-63 win over Bloomsburg University Saturday at Keystone
Hall.
Ben’s 31 points
in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division gives
him 67 points in his last two games.
The Golden Bears
(16-3, 5-1 PSAC East) have won five straight divisional games and
all 10 of their games at Keystone Hall.
Stephen Dennis (jr. West Chester/Henderson)
scored 20 points and
Ryan Washington (so. Philadelphia/Wissahickon)
had 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Ben, who had
five of KU’s 18 steals, scored 19 in the first half to help KU to a
45-30 lead at the break.
The Golden Bears shot 50.0 percent from
the floor in the first half, and continued to shoot well, holding
off Bloomsburg 43-33 in the second half.
The Huskies (4-15, 1-5 PSAC East) were led by Larry Webster,
who came off the bench to score 13 points and pull down 14 rebounds.
The Golden Bears went to the line 30
times, making 18 free throws. Ben led the way, making 8-of-10, while
Washington was 6-of-7 from the stripe.
Ben also led the Golden Bears from
beyond the arc with three 3-pointers.
KU will travel to Cheyney University for
an 8 p.m. PSAC East contest Wednesday.
