KU wins ninth
straight with win over Millersville

Pa. - The Kutztown University men's basketball team continued
rolling, with a 77-61 win over Millersville Saturday afternoon.
Andre
Woodlin (sr. Philadelphia/Central)
scored 22 points and
Dave Ben
(sr. Coatesville/Coatesville) added 20 to lead the Golden
Bears, who won their ninth straight game and 20th overall, one short
of KU's single-season record for wins.
Stephen Dennis (jr. West Chester/Henderson) notched 14
points and
Mark
Bower (sr. West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) added 13 to
round out KU's scoring leaders.
Kutztown retained
sole possession of first place in the PSAC East, improving to 9-1 in
division play.
Makal Stibbins
scored 19 points and grabbed 16 rebounds for Millersville.
Kutztown took
control of the game early, building a double-digit advantage less
than six minutes into the first half.
The Golden Bears
turned a 39-27 halftime advantage into a commanding 52-30 lead less
than four minutes into the second half. Four different players
scored for KU during the 13-3 run.
The win was the
57th PSAC Eastern Division victory for head coach Bernie Driscoll,
moving past Walt Risley into first place on KU's career division
wins chart. Risley had 56 from the inception of the PSAC in
1952 until 1963. Driscoll is also two wins away from Risley's
overall victory record of 136, which was amassed from 1945-63.
Kutztown returns to
the court Wednesday vs. West Chester. It will be
faculty/staff night at Keystone Hall.
