The Kutztown University Athletic Department and the University community
mourns the death of Damian Mobley, a member of the men's basketball team.
Damian passed away at 9:06 PM on Monday September 11, 2000, after
collapsing while playing a pickup basketball game at Keystone Hall.
Mobley, who was 30, was a three-year member of the Golden Bear basketball program. He
would have been a senior this season. Mobley was a veteran of the Gulf War, and was
on track to graduate in May of 2001 with a degree in theater. The players and
coaches have dedicated the 2000-01 season to Damian.
He was not related to former Golden Bear and current Denver Bronco John
Mobley.
At the request of the family, the Damian Mobley Memorial Fund has been
established by the KU Foundation. For more information about this fund, contact the

The thoughts of the Golden Bear community are with the Damian's friends
and family and the KU basketball program in this time of great sorrow.
