PAUKOVITS WINS 141 BRACKET AT HITCHCOCK OPEN

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - John Paukovits (so. Northampton/Northampton) won the 141 pound bracket to lead the Golden Bears at the Shorty Hitchcock Open at Millersville University Saturday.

He was one of three Golden Bears to place in the top three.  Scott Snyder (jr. Slatington/Northen Lehigh) was the runner up at 197 pounds and Dave Zeek (jr. Newtown/Council Rock North) was third at 165.

Paukovits picked up two decisions and a pin to reach the finals, where he defeated Casey Smith of Army, 8-5. 

Snyder notched four decision wins before losing by fall in the finals at 197.  Zeek won three decisions, lost by decision in the semifinals, then bounced back with two consolation wins to take third place.

Joe Kemmerer (sr. Mountaintop/Crestwood) had his day cut short by injury.  The senior 133 pounder was injured in a 6-0 second-round match and did not continue.
