KUTZTOWN, Pa — Kutztown rolled to a 28-9 win over PSAC foe Millersville in wrestling action on senior night Wednesday at Keystone Hall.

Joe Kemmerer (sr. Mountaintop/Crestwood) and John Paukovits (so. Northampton/Northampton) notched consecutive technical falls at 133 and 141, respectively, to lead the Golden Bears.

Bret Martinez (jr. Slatington/Northern Lehigh), at 149, Chris Chambers (sr. Holland/Council Rock South), at 157, Eric Sergent (fr. Nazareth/Nazareth) at 184 and Scott Snyder (jr. Slatington/Northen Lehigh), at 197, won by decisions for KU.  Cory Rutt (fr. Easton/Easton) received a forfeit win at 285.

After Millersville went up 3-0 on a John Andel decision at 125, Kemmerer blanked his opponent 16-0 in 6:03.  Paukovits followed with an 18-1 win in 5:36 for a 10-3 Golden Bear lead.

Martinez won 6-2 and Chambers won 3-2 at 157 as the Golden Bears went up 16-3.

Millersville closed the gap with a 5-2 decision for Jeremy Brooks at 165.  The 174 match was the bout of the night, with Shane Smith winning 2-1 in the second tiebreaker period over Sonny Flood (sr. Southampton/William Tennent).  Smith escaped with two seconds left in the first tiebreaker, then rode out Flood for the win.

Sergent won 8-3 at 184 for a 19-9 lead.  Snyder wrapped up the contested matches with a 3-2 decision.  Rutt's forfeit closed the match and gave KU a 28-9 win.

The match was the final one at Keystone Hall for KU's seniors - Chambers, Flood and Kemmerer.
