After receiving a bye in the first round, Sheetz pinned East Strousburg's Dave Luthy in one minute and 39 seconds to advance to the quarterfinal. Sheetz was dealt a loss to No. 1 seed Eric Morrill who went on to take the 125-pound weight class.

In the consolation bracket, Sheetz won a 5-3 decision to advance before dropping Nick Hyatt of Lock Haven in a 7-5 decision to earn his third place finish.

Austin Williams (Pen Argyl/Pen Argyl) and David Zeek (Newtown Council Rock North) took different routes to earn fourth place finishes.

At 133-pounds, Williams started off with a pin over Andrew Arnold in the second round before being sent to the consolation bracket with a loss in the quarterfinal. He followed that up a 9-6 decision before falling to John Trumbetti in a fight for third place.

Zeek bounced back from a loss in his first bout to John Shields with a 9-6 decision then won by a medical forfeit. The 165-pound senior fell again to Shields, the reigning NCAA Division II Champion, to finish fourth. In 2007, Zeek also had a fourth place showing at the PSAC Championship.

Senior Scott Snyder (Slatington/Northern Lehigh) earned a fifth place finish for the second time in three years at the PSAC Championship. The 197 pounder found himself in close decisions all day. Snyder started out with a 3-2 win in the second round before falling 6-1 in the quarterfinal. In the consolation, Snder dropped a 2-0 decision to set up a 2-1 win over Eddie Ebewo for fifth place.

The Golden Bears collectively earned 48 points to finish in seventh place, an improvement on last season's eighth place effort. Edinboro maintained its dominance of the PSAC with a first place finish and four individual first place finishes. Bloomsburg followed in second place, with three wrestlers winning their weight class. Clarion, Lock Haven and Gannon finished third through fifth, respectively

The Golden Bears will have off for over a month before returning to action on Wednesday January 6 in a dual meet at the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown.
