2009	As A Sophomore: Mertz appeared in 13 games, starting in eight. He finished with a 2-3 record and had an ERA of 4.60 with 28 strikeouts. Mertz pitched one complete game and recorded one save in 45 innings. Honors: 2008-09 PSAC Scholar Athlete
2008	As A Freshman: Mertz was the Golden Bears top option out of the bullpen, appearing in team-high 18 games and posting a team-low 1.80 ERA. He was 1-0 with two saves over 20 innings of work.
