How to Contact a Coach
/ Fill out an Online Questionnaire
Coaches can be contacted a number of ways. Prospective student athletes should go
about the following process when first contacting a coach.
1. Complete an online Prospective
Student-Athlete Questionnaire
2. Call or email the coach of the sport. For phone numbers, or email addresses, see
staff directory.
If you are unable to complete an online questionnaire, prospective student-athletes are
encouraged to contact a coach anyway. For phone numbers, or email addresses, see
staff directory.
In most cases, especially during that coach's season of competition, you should allow
time (1-2 weeks) for coaches to respond to your inquiries. If you do not receive a
response in a sufficient amount of time, please send another email or call the coach to
confirm they received your first inquiry or message.
Athletic Scholarships
All Kutztown
University Varsity programs award some athletics-based scholarships.
Basic policy for the awarding of athletic scholarships- Kutztown
University provides athletic scholarships to support the academic pursuits of
its student-athletes. Students are
expected to participate in sports because they love to do so.
This means that money provided for student-athletes
in the form of athletic grants-in-aid is to support their pursuit of an
education, not to support their participation in a sport.
The intent of this policy is to spend our valued and limited scholarship
dollars on students who are using them for the purpose intended: their
education.
All funds for scholarships to student-athletes are generated from
fund-raising efforts by the Kutztown University athletic department, the Student
Government Association and the Kutztown University Foundation.
There are a variety of scholarships available to both new and continuing
student-athletes in all the varsity sports at Kutztown University.
Inquire with coaches for more information.
The renewal and/or cancellation of Athletic Scholarships is governed by
NCAA Rules (See NCAA Manual Bylaw, Article 15).
Academic Scholarship Awards
Program
All award recipients are athletically eligible, full-time students who actively
participated on their respective teams during the past academic year. Verification of
participation and eligibility is done through the Athletic Compliance Coordinator and
QPAs are certified by the Registrar. To receive the scholarship grants or first year
awards, students must be continuing full-time students at KU. This may include graduate
school. (Graduating students will be offered specially designed custom watches upon graduation). Students must be recommended by their coach. Continued athletic
participation is not required, but the circumstances relating to non-continuation may be a
factor.

or any student-athlete achieving a 4.00.

receive them only because they have graduated and leave the University in the spring or
subsequent winter, are offered a custom KU athletic watch.
First-Year Custom Jackets will be presented by the director of athletics at or near the beginning of each academic year. Grants (scholarships) will be credited during
the spring semester after the academic year in which the QPA was achieved. Scholarships
